Information regarding Bank Resolution and Bail-in

In response to the experience gained in the 2008 financial crisis, many countries have adopted regulations with which banks at risk of default can be resolved in an orderly manner in the future without any participation of tax payers. This means that shareholders and creditors of banks may, in the event of a resolution, participate in its losses. The target is to enable the resolution of a bank without the use of public funds.
